Time flies… 2022 was another busy year for Invest Wollongong as we continued to promote our vibrant coastal city as a legitimate, alternative location for business.
Our end of year celebration was a wonderful way to wrap up our year with Invest Wollongong’s partners, stakeholders, community, friends. Held at Mercer Australia’s offices on Level 9 of Wollongong CBD’s newest A-grade office development, Lang’s Corner. The views, the speakers and the company could not have been a better representation of our city and its business community.
Held on Tuesday 9 December, Wollongong City Lord Mayor, Gordon Bradbery AM, opened the formal proceedings with a passionate case for Wollongong’s potential and opportunity, and the benefits for both corporate organisations and the city’s economic development of attracting new businesses to operate from Wollongong.

A panel presentation featuring Greater Cities Commissioner for the Illawarra-Shoalhaven, Jacki Johnson, Mercer’s Client Services Manager, Matthew Bailey, and Hysata CEO Paul Barrett was positively received by attendees – we thank each of our guests for their time, insights and continued advocacy for our region.
The event was a positive closing note to the year that was 2022, with some other 2022 highlights including:

🎇 Getting out and about at industry events including the Auscontact Association National Conference, the Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition and i3net (Illawarra Innovative Industry Network)‘s Illawarra Industry Showcase
🎇 Hosting the course-side event for Wollongong’s ‘Olympic moment’, the 2022 road cycling world championships
🎇 The opening of Wollongong’s newest and largest ever A-grade office development, Lang’s Corner
