Illawarra Innovative Industry Network – i3net

i3net is a network of industry-based Illawarra organisations who promote the collective capability of industry to local, national and international markets. Many members are involved in the mining, minerals processing, infrastructure, energy and defence industries. i3net hold meetings where large project-based companies from outside of the Wollongong region are invited to present to its members. They also hold business networking events throughout the region for their members organisations.

Business Illawarra

Business Illawarra the region’s chapter of the NSW Business Chamber. It’s a member-based not-for-profit business support organisation which supports its members with business improvement, human resources, marketing, recruitment and workplace relations and regular networking events. The group advocates on behalf of the region and its business community to all levels of Government.

Illawarra Women in Business (IWIB)

IWIB is a networking group for women in the region to share ideas and collaborate with other women in Wollongong. Some of the IWIB events schedule includes a six weekly networking lunch with guest speakers and quarterly coffee catchup.

Property Council Illawarra

The Property Council Illawarra is a membership group that includes property industry representatives across Illawarra and Shoalhaven. The group advocates for and promotes the property industry in the region. They also organise business networking events and lunches with keynote speakers throughout the year.

Siligong

Siligong is a community of over 1,400 professionals who voluntarily arrange meetups in Wollongong on various topics including tech, coding, javascript, marketing, product management, python and UX UI design. The community is focused on placing Wollongong on the global tech and entrepreneurial map. And individuals who make up the Siligong community are passionate about collaboration and sharing knowledge.

It is free to join and attend Siligong Valley meetups as well as get involved in their slack channel.

The Illawarra Connection (TIC)

TIC is a not-for-profit networking organisation for professional, commercial and industrial business and community organisations within the Wollongong region. They arrange six regular black-tie networking dinner meetings each year. TIC also funds a participant in the Illawarra Emerging Leaders Program in conjunction with Regional Development Australia Illawarra and the University of Wollongong.

Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA)

The UDIA’s Illawarra chapter is the representative body for businesses’ involved in the urban development industry. The not-for-profit peak body attracts members who are developers, valuers, planners, engineers, architects, project managers, surveyors, landscape architects and state and local government authorities.
