Finocomp leap into new space

How FinoComp seeks more space as it enjoys growth out of this world

A week can be a long time in business.

Especially when you are kicking as many goals as Jamberoo startup FinoComp.

After winning the Employer of Choice Illawarra Business Award on October 19, the software development company with an innovative approach in providing a range of micro services for the wealth management industry opened an additional office in Wollongong the following Friday.

In between Ray Tubman and his business partner Peter Nicholson found out their business is going to make the list for Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 companies in Australia.

“That is for the list of the 50 fastest growing tech companies in Australia based on revenue over a five year period,” Mr Tubman said.

“We are in our fifth year and we are really happy about that. That happens in November. We don’t know where we are in the 50 but we know we are in there”.

They found out the same day as Wollongong staff started moving into the new office in Smith Street.

“This is all about growth. We are all about hiring the best people in the industry,”

“We don’t want to limit our recruitment base. So by opening up a Wollongong office it really gives more access to people who are based in the city or live in the northern suburbs so they don’t have to make the half hour trip to Jamberoo every day” Mr Tubman said.

Surrounded by some of his personal robots, who were also enjoying more space, Mr Tubman said the growing FinoComp business was about increasing its infrastructure and giving itself room to move and expand.

“We already have another intern program lined up for this Christmas with the uni. We have kept five of the interns from last year on. And this gives them good proximity to the uni while they study and work”.

Mr Tubman said the recognition was coming at a really pivotal time in the company’s history.

“And this is the infrastructure that will launch more growth. We have some big announcements in the coming week or two that will increase the profile and the size of our company yet again,” he said.

In 2019 FinoComp was also nominated in WealthTech’s 100 list for the world’s most innovative WealthTech companies.

The brand is very well known in wealth management circles in the United Kingdom and as its profile grows further in Australia and Europe it is expecting to employ up to 25 more staff.

Prior to the Wollongong office opening on Friday the business had three offices in the main street of Jamberoo where it employs 35 people and one office in London here five people work.

FinoComp’s modules allow clients to focus on growing their business while adapting to change and servicing their own clients. FinoComp designs, builds and tests its software using cutting edge technology to ensure speedy delivery and market leading quality.
