Wollongong Airport

Our closest airport is the Illawarra Regional Airport, also known as the Wollongong Airport. Fly Corporate has daily flights to Melbourne and Brisbane.

By Train

Traveling to and from Wollongong by train is easy –  Wollongong passengers are served by the South Coast railway line. Regular passenger rail services connect our city to Sydney CBD in the north and nearby regional cities of Nowra and Kiama to the south.

Many locals make the most of the affordable weekend train tickets and take their family on a day trip to the Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour or even spend the day at Bondi or Manly. This can be done in as little as 90 minutes by train. And there is no need to search for a car park when you arrive!

Getting around Wollongong

By walking

By using the bus

Getting around by bus can take away the stress of driving and there are a number of route services in Wollongong that are provided by local bus companies along with school/charter services. Wollongong railway station serves as the network’s hub and bus services also connect Wollongong suburbs to Shellharbour, Lake Illawarra and the Royal National Park.

Best of all, there is a free Shuttle Bus service that connects Wollongong’s CBD, The University of Wollongong and the suburbs of North Wollongong, Fairy Meadow and Gwynneville.

By bike
